• Host/Services Discovery

Transparently gathers detailed information from all devices attached

to the surveyed network: network servers (firewalls, Web servers,

e-mail servers, and File Transfer Protocol [FTP] servers) and network

infrastructure devices (routers, switches, and remote access

servers).

Provides a detailed electronic inventory of network

resources—includes device type, operating system, and operating

system version.

• Network Vulnerability Identification and Verification:

Uses a network security database to easily identify vulnerabilities in

the following categories: Network TCP/IP hosts, UNIX hosts,

Windows NT hosts, web servers, mail servers, FTP servers, firewalls,

routers and switches.

Offers a variety of formats for data presentation, including

browser-based matrices that allow a user to view data from a broad

perspective of totals and types of vulnerabilities on the network, to

listings of hosts with a specific vulnerability, to a detailed perspective

of all the vulnerabilities on a specific host.

Supports a range of graphs, ready for inclusion in a slide

presentation or report: all the graphs are easily customized to

provide different perspectives on a network’s security posture.
