The VS/VD implementation of the ATM Forum Traffic Management

Standard V.4.0 enables the switch to continually monitor trunk

utilization throughout the network, adjust bandwidth to all

connections, proactively avoid queuing delays, and virtually

eliminate cell loss.

– Virtual Trunking:

BPX 8600 switches can be interconnected through an ATM-VP

crossconnect or large ATM core switch to ensure that Intelligent

QoS Management and advanced bandwidth management features

are extended across the ATM core network to the edge network.
