Description pmverify does not recognize PVC and VLAN agents

Symptom Using Reporter on the Web “Deﬁning Networks and Thresholds” phase of

nmx_conﬁg, PVC and VLAN agents have a media type of

“>>Unknown<<“.

Details The pmverify utility does not recognize PVC's and VLAN's. It fails with

SNMP communications errors, or referencing illegal MIB values.

[Defect ID 0804–024422]

Work-Around: Select the checklist containing the “>>Unknown<<“ media type, and

choose the appropriate PVC or VLAN media manually. Customers must

know the correct choice, or there may be many reporting errors later.

Description Reporter has inconsistent behavior when closing an unchanged

report ﬁle

Symptom If user double-clicks a report's line in the status window, then immedi-

ately closes the report deﬁnition window, the window closes immediately,

which is what expected. However, if user uses the Open Report toolbar

icon or menu item, opens the same ﬁle, then immediately closes the

report deﬁnition window, The user is told that there are outstanding

edits and do you really want to close the report, and the user has to click

OK to close the report deﬁnition window. [Defect ID 804–013730]

Work-Around None.

Internetwork Monitor

Description Multiple agents on the same subnet can cause problems when

using Internetwork Monitor’s Address placement

Details When using Address placement, you may experience unexpected behav-

ior if you have multiple agents for the same subnet or network area

deﬁned in your agentmgr.db ﬁle. In particular, enabling or disabling

monitoring for a selected segment ring may cause minor problems if the

ring has multiple agents.

Work-Around Avoid deﬁning multiple agents for the same subnet or network area.
