Using NetMetrix with OpenView NNM 4.11 or 5.0x

To use NetMetrix applications with OpenView Network Node Manager

4.11 or 5.0x, install the NetMetrix 6.0 software on each OpenView NNM

management station and distributed console on which you want to use

NetMetrix applications. NetMetrix applications work the same on an

OpenView management station and distributed console.

NetMetrix applications are compatible with NNM’s on-demand submap

feature. NetMetrix applications also work with the new NNM trap back-

ground process (ovtrapd) and Postmaster background process (pmd).

To forward NetMetrix events, install the Common ﬁleset

(NETM-COMMON) on the OpenView 4.1 distributed collection stations.

Similarly, the Common ﬁleset is also required for conﬁguring OpenView

NNM discovery/map/topology ﬁlters.
