Summary of Changes, Earlier NetMetrix Releases

The following summarizes the changes between NetMetrix version 4.7

and 5.0:

● NetMetrix applications have been enhanced to work with the following

HP probes: J3458A HP Fast Ethernet LanProbe, 4987B HP Ethernet

LanProbe with AUI, and J3321B/J3322B HP FDDI LanProbe with

Ethernet Telemetry.

● Extended RMON Module, Load Monitor, and Reporter have been

enhanced to work with NetMetrix WanProbes.

● Internetwork Monitor now includes the ability to launch Load Monitor

and Protocol Analyzer using the context of the current internetwork

view.

● NetMetrix can be used with Cisco’s Catalyst 5000 LAN switches, pro-

vided the RMON agent is enabled.

● Reporter now allows for TopN Conversation graphs with protocol

breakdown.

● Reporter TopN graphs are now based on network address instead of

MAC address.

● Reporter on the Web now has two additional global reports: Network

Summary and Global TopN.

● When Reporter on the Web constructs Web pages, it now instructs the

Web browser not to cache the page.

● Several new decodes have been added to Protocol Analyzer, including

HTTP, Cisco ISL, and the SRF and SIF portions of FDDI SMT.

● ERM Conﬁgurator now sets the default polling rate for associated

probes based on the probe media speed.

● LanProbe Conﬁguration includes several new items for conﬁguring

new HP probes.
