To switch to the Privileged EXEC mode enter enable (or its abbreviation en)
2511> enable enable command to switch to privileged mode
Enter the password on the flyer handed out to you.
To view the configuration of the router enter:
2511# show run display the configuration information
currently running on the router. Note the
ip host commands and how line #’s 2001,
2002, etc. are given the names r1, r2, ...
To connect to your routers r1-r3 (or r4-r6 if you were assigned to routers
{r4,r5,r6}) you must do this by way of the commserver. There are two ways
to accomplish this. You can use the telnet command with the commserver
IP address of the city location to connect to router r1:
2511# telnet IP address of commserver 2001
connecting to router r1
using line 2001 of the
Commserver. Line 2002
connects to r2, 2003 to
router r3, 2004 to r4, etc.
Or you could simply enter the name of the router, r1. (this would be r4 if you
were assigned to routers r4, r5, r6). Press ENTER key again after the “… Open”
line and you should see the prompt r1> or “Connection refused by remote host”
message, similar to the next window:
