TESTING PROCEDURE & ACCESSING SAVED TEST RESULTS
ADSL2+ BONDED HSI Testing Procedure:
ADSL2+ BONDED service testing is performed with the JSDU/Acterna HST-3000 test set via the Bonded
ADSL Test Script. Steps required to perform this test include, testing each individual DSL pair/port for
good physical statistics then completing the test by connecting the test set to the ADSL2+ Bonded
Gateway to administer a Ping & FTP test. Please review the table below for the complete testing
procedure.
NOTE: The ADSL2+ Bonded D.A.T.A. testing process does leverage both the DSL Line port (located
on the right side of the HST) as well as the Ethernet port (located on the top of the HST).
The technician will use the DSL Line port (side of HST) to test the physical line statistics (i.e. sync
rate, noise margin, attenuation) of both pair one and pair two. This is no change from single line
testing performed today, only the test is performed twice.
The technician will then use the Ethernet port (top of unit) to perform the FTP and Ping portions of
the test as well as to complete the job close-out. The HST must be connected to the back of the
gateway via an Ethernet cord.
